About the Founder:
With a desire to merge his entrepreneurial spirit with his
developing interest in custom made clothing, David Kennebrew founded
the David Staccato Clothing Company in the fall of 2006 while a
student at Jackson State University. Since his first design, a pink
two button blazer, David has developed a brand that has and
continues to distinguish itself from all others in the areas of
design, quality, and craftsmanship.
David’s clothing design experience began while he
was in high school. He designed a custom t-shirts for himself which
displayed his nickname. His fellow classmates liked the look he had
created and his designs were well received. This formative
experience catalyzed his belief that developing a strong brand name
and strong reputation would be the key to his success in whatever
business venture that he could possibly choose in the future.
Lacking any formal fashion design experience, but
possessing a desire to succeed, David taught himself how to sew
using a sewing machine which was a gift from his parents. He also
taught himself the art of choosing and coordinating fabric, which is
what he believes, is the most important part of any design.
Staying true to the principles of both quality
fabrics and craftsmanship, David has been fortunate to grow and
expand the David Staccato Clothing Company through its products,
services offerings, as well as the reputation of the brand. He has
had the opportunity to work with various photographers, stylist,
models, event coordinators, and entertainers. In addition, the David
Staccato Clothing Brand has been featured in several fashion shows
such as Dress Houston 2008, Little Rock Fashion Week (2009), and the
Black Party 7 Fashion Show (2010).
